Manage actors, stakeholder seats and guardians through the CLI, not by editing mdboard.toml or .mdboard/actors.toml by hand.

Add a person

mdboard person add jane \
  --display-name "Jane Doe" \
  --role member \
  --git-email jane@example.com \
  --email jane@example.com \
  --seats 1 \

  --authorised-by owner \
  --authorization "Add Jane as a member."

Optional: --guardian or --co-guardian. Co-guardian additions are approved by the guardian.

Retire or delete an actor

mdboard actor-remove jane --retire --authorised-by owner --authorization "..."
mdboard actor-remove jane --delete --authorised-by owner --authorization "..."

--retire keeps identity and history. --delete is refused when the actor has historical references.

Stakeholders

mdboard stakeholder add --name "Jane Doe" --email jane@example.com --seats 1 --until 2027-11-02
mdboard stakeholder remove --email jane@example.com
mdboard stakeholder list

Stakeholder removal is refused while a vote is open.

All writes are atomic and preserve comments.
